I’m so proud of this costume. The tailcoat in particular was reconstructed from some heinous red blazer I found at Value Village for $6. I cut off the sleeves and fashioned them into gold-lined tails, widened the armholes, replaced the collar with metallic gold, changed the hemline, added gold buttons, black piping and hand-stenciled Gryffindor crest and even had a secret holder for my wand (sadly, not pictured). Every layer of this costume was meticulously thought about and made, all the way down to my golden snitch pasties.
